Why Innokin is still a safe bet
Innokin has been making vape hardware since 2011 and it has earned a reputation for kits that just work. The Endura T18 got a generation of UK smokers off cigarettes, the Zenith tank is still the yardstick for mouth-to-lung flavour, and the newer pod kits carry the same approach: decent batteries, sensible coils and chipsets with proper protections.
The catch is the range is wide. Browse the Innokin brand page and you’ll find pen kits, pod kits, prefilled pod kits and mods sitting side by side. They’re aimed at very different people, so this guide sorts them by who they suit rather than by which is “best” in the abstract. If you’re new to vaping altogether and want the basics first, our guide to MTL vs DTL vaping explains the two draw styles every kit below is built around.
The five Innokin kits worth buying
Every kit below is stocked on our site right now. Specs come from the product pages, not from memory, and none of the pods or tanks hold more than 2ml because that’s the UK limit for nicotine-containing kits.
Innokin Plexus Pro Pod Kit 1350mAh
The Plexus Pro is the kit we’d hand to most people. It’s a compact refillable pod with a 1350mAh battery, which is comfortably a full day for a moderate vaper, and it fires up to 25W. Two pods come in the box, a 0.6Ω and a 0.8Ω, with a 1.2Ω pod sold separately, so you can run it as a restricted direct-lung device or a tight mouth-to-lung one. An airflow slider on the side lets you fine-tune the draw without swapping coils.
It has two firing modes: Smart mode reads the coil and picks the wattage for you, and variable wattage mode lets you set it yourself. Filling is from the top, so you don’t have to pull the pod out every time. Innokin recommends 50% VG liquid, which in practice means 10ml nic salts or 50/50 freebase. Replacement Plexus Pro pods are sold separately.
Battery 1350mAh, up to 25W, 2ml pod, 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω coils included, inhale activation, adjustable airflow.

Innokin MVP 60K Prefilled Pod Kit 20mg
Since disposable vapes were banned in the UK on 1 June 2025, prefilled pod kits are the closest thing to the grab-and-go experience, and the MVP 60K is Innokin’s answer. You get a 1000mAh rechargeable device and three prefilled 2ml pods in the box, and the “60K” in the name is the manufacturer’s rated puff count across the set. Each pod is 20mg nic salt at 50/50, with a dual mesh coil, and the device is draw activated with a small LCD on top showing battery and e-liquid level.
There are two power modes, Eco at 16W for a smoother, longer-lasting draw and Boost at 22W for a stronger hit. USB-C fast charging means the 1000mAh cell tops up quickly. Each edition is a 3-in-1, so a Fruity Ice box gives you three different fruit and ice flavours rather than three of the same. When the pods run out, replacement MVP pods slot straight in. It suits anyone who wants zero maintenance, travellers, and people moving off disposables. Our prefilled pod kit buying guide covers what to check before choosing one.
Battery 1000mAh, 16W Eco or 22W Boost, prefilled 2ml pods (three included), 20mg nic salt, dual mesh coil, USB-C.
Innokin Endura S1 Refillable Pod Kit
The Endura S1 is the simplest kit on this list and one of the most popular refillable pods on the whole site. It’s a slim pen-shaped pod with a 650mAh battery, a 2ml refillable pod and a 0.8Ω mesh coil, inhale activated with no buttons, no screen and no settings. Innokin runs it at a constant 3.7V so the last puff on a charge tastes the same as the first.
It’s designed as a semi-disposable: you refill and recharge it as many times as the coil holds up, then replace the whole device. That makes it a very cheap way to try refillable vaping, and it’s the kit we’d suggest to someone who liked the size of a disposable but wants to pick their own liquid. It charges over USB-C but the cable isn’t included, so grab one if you don’t already have a spare.
Battery 650mAh, 3.7V constant output, 2ml refillable pod, 0.8Ω mesh coil, inhale activation, USB-C.
Innokin Jem Starter Kit 1000mAh
The Jem is a classic pen-style starter kit and the closest thing in the current range to the old Endura T18 formula. A 1000mAh battery drives a 2ml top-filling tank with adjustable airflow, and output is adjustable in a narrow band from 10W to 13.5W, which is exactly the range a 1.6Ω coil wants. A 2.0Ω coil also fits if you like an even cooler draw.
This is a mouth-to-lung kit through and through: a tight draw, low vapour, strong flavour and a throat hit that feels like a cigarette. Pair it with 10ml 50/50 liquid at 12mg to 18mg freebase, or a nic salt, and it’s a very convincing replacement for smoking. The tank is glass, the fill is from the top and the airflow ring gives you a bit of adjustment either way. Coils are cheap and come in packs of five. It charges over micro USB, which is the one thing that dates it.
Battery 1000mAh, 10W to 13.5W, 2ml tank, 1.6Ω coil included (2.0Ω compatible), button fired, micro USB.

Innokin Kroma R Zlide Kit 80W
The Kroma R is for the vaper who has outgrown pods. It’s a zinc-alloy mod with a textured grip and an OLED screen, powered by a single removable 18650 battery (not included) and firing from 6W to 80W. Alongside standard variable wattage you get a taste mode, custom power curves and a bypass mode, and it fires in 0.003 seconds. A 510 connector means it’ll take any tank you own, not just the one in the box.
The tank it ships with is the Zlide, a 2ml top-fill with a sliding cap, childproof lock and an airflow ring. It takes the whole Z coil family: a 0.48Ω Plex3D mesh coil is pre-installed for restricted direct-lung, and a 1.6Ω Kanthal coil is included for mouth-to-lung. That flexibility is the reason to buy it. One kit covers both draw styles, and replacement Plex3D 0.48Ω coils are widely stocked. You’ll need to buy an 18650 battery separately; a 3000mAh high-drain cell is the usual pairing.
Single 18650 (not included), 6W to 80W, 2ml Zlide tank, 0.48Ω mesh and 1.6Ω coils included, OLED screen, 510 connector.

| Plexus Pro | 1350mAh built in | Up to 25W | 0.6Ω / 0.8Ω | Refillable, 50/50 | Most people |
| MVP 60K | 1000mAh built in | 16W / 22W | Dual mesh (in pod) | Prefilled 20mg | Ex-disposable users |
| Endura S1 | 650mAh built in | 3.7V constant | 0.8Ω mesh | Refillable, 50/50 | Budget, first refillable |
| Jem | 1000mAh built in | 10W to 13.5W | 1.6Ω / 2.0Ω | Refillable, 50/50 | Ex-smokers, tight MTL |
| Kroma R Zlide | 1 x 18650 removable | 6W to 80W | 0.48Ω / 1.6Ω | Refillable, MTL or sub-ohm | Experienced vapers |
All pods and tanks are 2ml. Coil resistances are the ones supplied in the box. The Kroma R needs an 18650 battery bought separately.
Which Innokin kit for which vaper
One thing that trips people up: prefilled pods and refillable pods are not interchangeable. MVP pods only fit the MVP, and you can’t put a 10ml bottle of liquid into one. If you’re weighing up prefilled against refillable, our guide to prefilled pod kit and e-liquid compatibility spells out what fits what. And if you’re tempted by multi-flavour kits from other brands, the 4-in-1 vs standard pod kits comparison is worth five minutes.
Five features to check before you buy any Innokin kit
The kits above were picked against the same checklist, and it works for any Innokin device you come across, including older models still on sale.
- 1
Battery capacity and charging. For a built-in cell, 1000mAh or more will see most people through a day; the Plexus Pro’s 1350mAh and the MVP 60K’s 1000mAh both clear that bar, while the 650mAh Endura S1 is a top-up-at-lunch device for heavier users. USB-C charges faster and the cables are easier to find than micro USB. Every current Innokin kit has overcharge and overheat protection built in.
- 2
Coil compatibility. The coil decides flavour, vapour and how the kit feels. Look for a kit with more than one resistance available (the Plexus Pro has three, the Zlide takes the whole Z range) so you can change the draw without changing the device. Check replacement coils or pods are stocked before you commit.
- 3
Adjustable airflow. Closed airflow gives a tight, cigarette-like draw with more throat hit; open airflow is smoother, cooler and makes more vapour. A slider or ring means one kit can do both. The Endura S1 and MVP 60K have fixed airflow, which is fine if you already know you want a tight draw.
- 4
Chipset and safety. Innokin’s newer chipsets include short-circuit, low-resistance, overcharge and over-temperature protection, plus a cut-off if you hold the button too long. Smart mode on the Plexus Pro and the auto-detect on the Kroma R also stop you running a coil at the wrong wattage, which is the most common cause of burnt coils.
- 5
Ease of use. The simpler the interface, the better for a beginner. Inhale activation, top filling and a pod that clicks in without fiddling matter more day to day than a menu of modes. If you want the modes later, buy the Kroma R; if you just want to vape, buy the pod.
Running costs and the vape duty
The kit is the small part of the cost of vaping; liquid, coils and pods are where the money goes over a year. From 1 October 2026 the Vaping Products Duty adds £2.20 per 10ml plus VAT, so £2.64, to every 10ml of e-liquid, and that includes the liquid inside prefilled pods. Our vape tax guide works through what that does to prices, but the short version is that refillable kits get cheaper to run relative to prefilled ones, because a refillable coil lasts a week or two and a 10ml bottle carries one lot of duty however you use it.
That’s a point in favour of the Plexus Pro, Jem and Endura S1 if you’re deciding purely on cost, and a reason to stock up on your regular 10mls before October. Pre-duty stock can be sold at pre-duty prices until 31 March 2027, so nothing bought now will be repriced. Prefilled kits like the MVP 60K still win on convenience, and every order earns 1.8 reward points per £1 whichever route you take.

Quick answers
The Plexus Pro if you want something you’ll keep for a year, the Endura S1 if you want the cheapest possible start. Both are inhale activated, and the Plexus Pro’s Smart mode sets the wattage for you if you never want to touch it. Ex-smokers who prefer a pen shape and a button should look at the Jem.
No. Disposables have been banned in the UK since 1 June 2025. The MVP 60K is a rechargeable device with replaceable prefilled pods, which is why it’s legal to sell. You keep the device and buy new pods.
10ml 50/50 liquid, either freebase or nic salt, in the Plexus Pro, Endura S1 and Jem. Thick 70/30 shortfills will struggle in coils above 0.6Ω. The Kroma R with the 0.48Ω coil is the only kit here that’s happy with a shortfill.
Yes. It takes one 18650 cell, which isn’t in the box. A 3000mAh high-drain cell is the usual choice. The other four kits have built-in batteries and charge over USB.
Typically one to two weeks, depending on how much you vape and how sweet your liquid is. Change the coil when flavour drops off or you get a burnt taste. Prefilled MVP pods are simply swapped when empty.
No. The Plexus Pro uses its own replacement pod cartridges with the coil built in. Z and Plex3D coils fit the Zlide and Zenith tanks, including the one on the Kroma R.
