Vuse Pro Pods UK: Are They Still Worth Buying?

Vuse Pro

The pod market moves quickly, but Vuse Pro has stayed on the shelf because it does the simple things properly. Here is what the pods and the device actually give you, how they stack up against newer prefilled systems, and who should buy them.

Only got a minute?
  • Vuse Pro is still a sound buy if you want simple. Prefilled pods, draw activation, no coils to change and nothing to refill. Browse the Vuse range.
  • The airlock seal is the headline feature. It keeps the liquid sealed until the pod is clicked into the device, which cuts leaking in a pocket or bag and keeps the flavour fresher for longer.
  • Pods come in packs of two at 2ml each, in 12mg and 18mg nic salt. That is mouth-to-lung strength for ex-smokers, comfortably inside the UK limit of 20mg/ml.
  • The device is small and quick to charge: a 370mAh battery, mesh coil, splash-resistant body and around 80% charge in roughly 35 minutes on the magnetic USB charger.
  • Newer systems give you more puffs per pod, so if you vape heavily the wider prefilled pod range may suit you better. Vuse Pro wins on size, tidiness and consistency.

Why so many people still choose Vuse Pro

Pod kits have gone in two directions since disposable vapes were banned in the UK on 1 June 2025. One half of the market chased puff counts, big screens and refill tanks. The other half stayed small. Vuse Pro sits firmly in the second camp, and that is exactly why it keeps selling.

Three things come up again and again from customers who stick with it: it is easy to use every day, it disappears into a pocket, and the flavour does not drift as the pod empties. There is no wattage to set, no airflow ring to fiddle with and no coil to replace. You click in a pod, you inhale, and the device does the rest. For someone who has just moved off cigarettes, that lack of decisions is the whole appeal.

It is also a genuinely tidy system. A prefilled pod that seals itself when you pull it out is far less messy than carrying a bottle of e-liquid and a refillable pod around. If you are new to this format, our guide to buying a prefilled pod kit explains how the whole category works before you commit to one brand.

The Vuse Pro range: pods and device

There are two things to buy, and you only need the device once. After that it is pods.

Vuse Pro Prefilled Pods, pack of two

This is the part you reorder. Each pack holds two 2ml pods, filled with nic salt and sealed with the airlock system so nothing seeps out before you use them. The inhale is smooth and tight, which is what most ex-smokers are after, and because the coil is built into the pod you get a fresh coil every single time you swap. No burnt cotton, no gradual loss of flavour over a fortnight.

Twelve milligrams suits someone who was a light to moderate smoker or who has already stepped down from a big-puff kit. Eighteen milligrams is the one to pick if you are switching straight from a pack a day and need the hit to land.

Spec: 2 x 2ml prefilled pods. Nic salt at 12mg or 18mg. Integrated coil, airlock seal, draw activated.

The device itself is a slim rechargeable battery with a mesh coil feed, a battery indicator and a splash-resistant body. It is draw activated, so there is no fire button to hold and nothing to lock before it goes in your pocket. A magnetic USB charger comes in the box and takes it to roughly 80% in about 35 minutes, which is short enough to top up while you have a coffee rather than planning your evening around it.

The 370mAh battery is modest by current standards, and that is a deliberate trade. A bigger cell means a bigger device, and the whole point of the Pro is that it is light enough to forget you are carrying it. Most moderate vapers charge it once a day.

How it compares with other prefilled pod systems

Vuse Pro is not trying to win on capacity. The honest comparison is against the other closed pod systems people actually cross-shop, and each one is built around a different priority.

Pod system Pod format Strength Best for
Vuse Pro 2 x 2ml, airlock sealed 12mg, 18mg Pocket carry, no mess, tight MTL draw
Lost Mary Tappo 600 2 x 2ml 20mg Bar-style flavours at full legal strength
Elf Bar Elfa Pro 2 x 2ml 20mg Widest flavour list in the closed pod market
SKE Crystal Plus 2 x 2ml 20mg Crystal Bar fans who want a rechargeable version
IVG 2400 Reload 4 in 1 4 x 2ml, one pack 20mg Carrying four flavours in one device
Lost Mary BM6000 2ml prefilled pod 0mg, 10mg, 20mg Heavy vapers who want fewer pod changes

If a four-flavour device appeals, read 4 in 1 vs standard pod kits and our IVG 2400 4 in 1 review. For the big-capacity route, the Lost Mary BM6000 refill pods guide covers what changes when you move up. And if you are weighing the two most common choices head to head, we have compared Vuse pods against Lost Mary pods directly.

Setting up a Vuse Pro properly

There is very little to it, but a couple of steps make the difference between a pod that tastes right from the first puff and one that tastes thin.

  1. 1
Charge it fully before the first pod. Use the magnetic charger supplied. A nearly flat battery will not drive the coil as hard, which makes a brand new pod taste weaker than it should.
  2. 2
Push the pod in until it clicks. The airlock only opens when the pod is fully seated. A pod that is half in will either not fire at all or give you a dry, airy draw.
  3. 3
Push up the red seal and wait ten seconds before the first draw. The airlock opens and the wick soaks. This one habit prevents most of the “it tasted burnt straight away” complaints we hear.
  4. 4
Draw slowly and steadily. It is a mouth-to-lung device. A short, gentle pull of two to three seconds gives more flavour than a hard one, and it uses less liquid.
  5. 5
Swap the pod when the flavour dulls. Do not push a pod past the point where it starts to taste flat. Store spares upright somewhere cool and out of sunlight and they will keep for months.

Flavour, the airlock and why they are linked

Most flavour problems in pod vaping are not really flavour problems. They are air problems. E-liquid that has been sitting exposed to air loses its top notes first, so the fruit goes muted and the menthol softens, and the pod tastes duller than the one before it even though nothing has changed.

The airlock seal is Vuse’s answer to that. The pod stays closed until it is pushed into the device, so a spare pod in your bag is not slowly going stale or leaking into the lining. Combined with a mesh coil, which heats more evenly than an older wire coil, the result is a pod that tastes much the same on the last puff as the first.

What the airlock fixes
Leaking in a pocket, sticky fingers when you swap a pod, and flavour fading on spare pods you have been carrying for a week.
What it does not fix
Capacity. Two millilitres is the legal maximum for any prefilled pod in the UK, so no closed system will hold more. If you empty a pod in a day, a refillable pod kit and a bottle of nic salt is the answer.

One thing worth being clear about: Vuse Pro pods are closed and prefilled, so you cannot top them up with your own liquid. If you want to choose your own flavour and strength you need a refillable pod kit and a bottle of nic salt e-liquid. Our guide to prefilled pod kit e-liquid compatibility explains where the line sits between the two formats.

Convenience over clouds, and what it costs

The direction of travel in UK vaping is towards smaller, quieter devices. Plenty of people who once used a sub-ohm mod have moved to a pod because they want something they can use on a train platform without producing a fog bank. Vuse Pro is built for exactly that: a discreet plume, a tight draw and a device that looks like nothing much in your hand.

On running costs, closed pod systems are never the cheapest way to vape per millilitre, because you are paying for the coil and the casing every time. From 1 October 2026 Vaping Products Duty adds £2.20 per 10ml plus VAT, which works out at £2.64 on every 10ml of liquid whatever container it comes in. It is the same per ml on every format, so it does not change the gap between pods and bottles. Stock held before the duty starts can be sold at pre-duty prices until 31 March 2027, so there is a window if you already know the system suits you.

What you are buying with the extra pence per millilitre is time and tidiness. No bottles, no nic shots, no coil changes, no priming. For a lot of people that trade is easily worth it, and if it is not, a refillable kit from the pod kits range will bring the per-millilitre cost right down.

Who should buy Vuse Pro, and who should not

Buy it if you are switching from cigarettes and want the shortest possible learning curve, you carry your vape in a pocket or handbag all day, you have had leaks from other devices, or you simply want a mouth-to-lung hit that tastes the same every time without any maintenance.

Look elsewhere if you get through more than a couple of millilitres a day, you want a long list of flavours to rotate through, you want to mix your own strength, or you want direct-to-lung clouds. In those cases a larger prefilled kit or a refillable pod kit is the better fit.

So, are Vuse Pro pods still worth buying? If simplicity is what you value, yes. The device is not the most powerful and the pods are not the largest, but the system is well made, it behaves predictably and it is one of the least messy ways to vape in the UK right now.

Quick answers

Are Vuse Pro pods refillable?

No. They come prefilled and sealed, and they are designed to be replaced rather than topped up. If you want to choose your own e-liquid, you need a refillable pod kit instead.

How long does a Vuse Pro pod last?

It depends entirely on how often you vape. Each pod holds 2ml, so a light to moderate vaper will usually get a few days from one, while a heavy vaper may finish it inside a day.

Can Vuse Pro pods leak when travelling?

The airlock seal closes the pod when it is out of the device, which greatly reduces leaking in a bag or pocket and keeps the liquid fresh. Store spares upright and away from heat for the best results.

How quickly does the Vuse Pro device charge?

Around 80% in roughly 35 minutes using the magnetic USB charger supplied with the kit. Charge it fully before you fit the first pod.

What nicotine strengths do Vuse Pro pods come in?

Twelve milligrams and eighteen milligrams of nic salt. Both sit under the UK legal maximum of 20mg/ml. Pick 18mg if you are coming straight off cigarettes and 12mg if you have already stepped down.

Is Vuse Pro suitable for everyday carrying?

Yes. The slim, splash-resistant body and sealed pods make it one of the easier kits to keep in a pocket, a bag or a jacket without worrying about mess.
