Which Reusable Vape Lasts the Longest?

Buying guide

If you are tired of charging twice a day, battery capacity is only half the story. How much power the kit uses per puff, and how long its coils or pods last, decide how long it really goes between charges and refills.

Eleaf iStick Power 2 kit with 5000mAh battery

Only got a minute?
  • Longest battery: the Eleaf iStick Power 2 Kit, with a built-in 5000mAh battery and an MTL pod tank running from about 7W to 18W.
  • Best balance of size and stamina: the Innokin Endura T22 Pro, 3000mAh with a 13.5W maximum output.
  • Biggest battery among our pocket picks: the Vaporesso Xros 5 Mini at 1500mAh, ahead of the 1300mAh Oxva Xlim Pro 2.
  • mAh is not everything. A 2550mAh kit at 60W runs out sooner than a 1500mAh kit at 16W. Power use matters as much as capacity.
  • Coils and pods last one to three weeks on all of these, so budget for replacements whatever you choose.

What makes a vape last longer

“Lasts the longest” can mean three different things, and the best kit for one is not always the best for another.

Battery life per charge
Set by capacity in mAh and by how much power the kit uses. Low-power MTL kits with big batteries win.
Coil and pod life
How long a coil or pod gives good flavour. Typically one to three weeks, depending on liquid and use.
Working life of the kit
How long before the battery wears out. Built-in batteries retire the device; removable cells can be replaced.

The simplest way to compare battery life is firing time. Multiply mAh by the cell’s nominal 3.7V to get watt-hours, then divide by the wattage you vape at. That is the total time the coil can fire on one charge, before conversion losses, spread across every puff you take. Our guide on why a vape battery drains fast explains the maths in more detail.

The ranking at a glance

Our five picks, ranked by battery capacity, using the specifications on each product page. Firing times are our approximate calculation at a typical setting for each kit.

Kit Battery Typical power Firing time per charge (approx.) Coil or pod
Eleaf iStick Power 2 Kit 5000mAh 12W About 90 minutes GTL coils in a 2ml pod tank
Innokin Endura T22 Pro 3000mAh 13.5W max About 49 minutes 1.7 ohm T18 coils, 2ml tank
Voopoo Drag E60 2550mAh 30W About 19 minutes PnP coils in a PnP Pod 2
Vaporesso Xros 5 Mini 1500mAh About 16W About 21 minutes 2ml pod with a built-in coil
Oxva Xlim Pro 2 1300mAh About 12W About 24 minutes Pod with a built-in coil

Notice that the Drag E60, with the third-biggest battery, gives the shortest firing time. It is a direct-lung kit built to run at much higher power. If long battery life is your priority, a big battery paired with a low-power mouth-to-lung coil is the combination to look for.

Our five longest-lasting picks

The clear winner on battery. A built-in 5000mAh battery powers a compact MTL set-up: a 2ml GTL pod tank with bottom refill, dual adjustable airflow and a 0.96-inch colour screen. The kit ships with a 1.2 ohm GTL coil rated 7W to 13W and a 0.8 ohm coil rated 12W to 18W, so it spends most of its life at low power, which is exactly why the battery goes so far. It suits anyone who wants a mouth-to-lung draw and hates charging.

Battery 5000mAh built-in | Output 1W to 80W | 2ml GTL pod tank | 1.2 and 0.8 ohm GTL coils | USB-C

A simple pen-style MTL kit with a 3000mAh battery and a 13.5W maximum output across four preset power levels. Innokin says the battery gives up to a day of vaping. The 2ml T18E Pro tank fills from the top and uses 1.7 ohm T18 coils, which suit 50/50 liquid. A good choice if you want a big battery without learning a menu.

Battery 3000mAh built-in | Max output 13.5W | 2ml T18E Pro tank | 1.7 ohm T18 coils | USB-C
Innokin Endura T22 Pro kit

The pick if you want direct-lung vaping and still want a bigger battery than most pod kits. Its 2550mAh cell drives 5W to 60W through a PnP Pod 2 that takes the whole Voopoo PnP coil family, from 0.2 and 0.3 ohm heads in the box to higher-resistance options. Run it at 25W to 30W on a mid-range coil and the battery goes noticeably further than at 60W.

Battery 2550mAh built-in | Output 5W to 60W | PnP Pod 2 | 0.2 and 0.3 ohm PnP coils in the box | USB-C
Voopoo Drag E60 pod kit

The biggest battery of the pocket pod kits in our five picks. It pairs a 1500mAh battery with a 2ml refillable pod that has a built-in 0.6 ohm Corex mesh coil, so you replace the pod when the flavour fades rather than fitting a coil. Airflow adjusts with a slider on the side of the device, and it handles MTL and restricted direct-lung draws.

Battery 1500mAh built-in | 2ml pod with built-in 0.6 ohm mesh coil | Side airflow slider | USB-C

A compact pod kit with a 1300mAh battery. Its pods have built-in coils and fill from the top under the mouthpiece, so the pod never has to come off the device. It will not match the kits above for stamina, but for a pocket MTL pod it goes a long way between charges.

Other pod kits with bigger batteries include the Smok Morph Pod 40 at 2000mAh, a higher-power kit, and the Oxva Oneo at 1600mAh. Browse every pod kit by battery size, or step up to advanced kits for the biggest batteries.

Coil and pod life: the other half of longevity

A kit that holds its charge all day is not much use if the flavour dies after three days. On every kit here, expect a coil or pod to last roughly one to three weeks. Light use of a plain fruit or tobacco liquid stretches that; heavy use of sweet dessert flavours shortens it.

There are two designs. Kits like the iStick Power 2, Endura T22 Pro and Drag E60 take separate coils, so you change a cheap coil head and keep the tank or pod. Kits like the Xros 5 Mini and Xlim Pro 2 have the coil built into the pod, so you swap the whole pod. Neither is better for longevity; it is a matter of whether you prefer changing a coil or clicking in a fresh pod.

Whatever you use, a worn coil does not draw more power on a regulated device, so it will not shorten your battery life. It just tastes worse and makes less vapour. Change it when the flavour fades. Our guide on when to change your pod or coil lists the signs.

Built-in or removable battery: which lasts longer overall?

Every lithium-ion battery loses a little capacity with each full charge cycle. After a few hundred cycles, a kit that once lasted all day will need an extra top-up. How you deal with that depends on the battery type.

All five kits in this guide have built-in batteries. That keeps them simple and sealed, and there are no cells to buy or handle. The trade-off is that when the battery is worn out, the kit is retired with it. A big battery helps here too: a 5000mAh kit charged every two or three days works through its cycles far more slowly than a small pod kit charged twice a day.

Box mods that take removable 18650 or 21700 cells let you replace a tired cell and keep the mod. If you want the longest working life from one device, compare the box mods range, or read our pick of the best box mods in the UK.

How to make any vape last longer

  1. 1
Vape at the lowest power that tastes right. Halve the wattage and you roughly double the firing time from each charge.
  2. 2
Choose a higher-resistance coil. Mouth-to-lung coils of 0.6 ohm and above run at lower power than sub-ohm heads.
  3. 3
Take shorter draws. Firing time is shared across every puff, so two-second draws go much further than five-second ones.
  4. 4
Charge it gently. Use the USB-C cable supplied with the kit, plugged into a standard low-output USB plug or a computer port. Avoid fast-charge bricks and do not charge unattended overnight.
  5. 5
Keep it clean and cool. Wipe the contacts weekly, and keep the kit out of hot cars and cold pockets. See our guide on looking after your vape battery.

If your current kit used to last all day and no longer does, the battery may simply have aged. Our guide on signs your vape needs replacing will help you decide. If you want the most power rather than the longest life, our powerful vape kits for heavy smokers roundup covers that instead.

Quick answers

Which vape has the longest battery life?

Of the kits in this guide, the Eleaf iStick Power 2 Kit, with a built-in 5000mAh battery and a low-power MTL coil, goes the longest between charges.

Does a higher mAh always mean longer battery life?

Only at the same power. A high-wattage kit with a bigger battery can still run out sooner than a low-wattage kit with a smaller one.

How long do pod coils last?

Typically one to three weeks. Sweet liquids and heavy use shorten that; lighter use of simpler flavours stretches it.

Is a removable battery better for longevity?

It can be. When a removable cell wears out you replace the cell and keep the mod, whereas a worn built-in battery retires the whole device.

Which pocket pod kit has the biggest battery?

Of the five ranked here, the Vaporesso Xros 5 Mini at 1500mAh, followed by the Oxva Xlim Pro 2 at 1300mAh. The Oxva Oneo (1600mAh) and Smok Morph Pod 40 (2000mAh) are bigger again.

Battery and coil specifications are taken from the product pages at the time of writing. Firing times are approximate calculations from rated capacity at a nominal 3.7V, ignore conversion losses and vary with use. Product availability changes. For adult smokers and vapers aged 18+ only.
