Which replacement pods fit my vape? A pod compatibility guide

Buying guide

Replacement pods look alike but rarely swap between kits. Here’s which pods fit the Caliburn, Xros, Luxe, Xlim, Argus, Gotek, Klypse, Wenax and Nord kits, and how to pick the right resistance once you know which pod fits.

Only got a minute?
  • Pods are matched to a kit series, not a brand. A Caliburn A3 pod won’t fit a Caliburn G4, and Xros pods won’t fit a Luxe X.
  • Read the model name on the device or the box first. Then find that model in the compatibility list on the pod’s product page or in our table below.
  • Most modern pods have the coil built in. You change the whole pod when the flavour fades. A few kits, such as the Caliburn G2 and Smok Nord 6, use empty pods with separate coils.
  • Prime every new pod. Fill it and leave it for five to ten minutes before the first puff, so the coil doesn’t burn.
  • Pick resistance by draw style. Higher resistance pods give a tighter mouth-to-lung draw; lower ones give a looser, airier one.

Why one pod doesn’t fit every kit

A refillable pod holds the e-liquid and, in most cases, the coil. Three things decide whether it works in a particular battery: the shape of the slot, the contacts that carry power to the coil, and the power the battery can deliver. Change any one and the pod won’t seat, won’t fire, or fires badly.

Manufacturers tend to keep one pod design across a family of kits, which is good news. Uwell’s GPP pod covers most of the Caliburn G3, G4 and G5 range, and Vaporesso’s Corex pods cover almost the whole Xros line. The catch is that a brand often runs two or three families side by side.

The table below points you to the right pod in our refillable pods range.

Built-in coil pods vs empty pods

Your kit uses one of two pod types, and they’re bought and replaced differently.

Built-in coil pods
The coil is sealed into the pod. You choose a resistance when you buy, fill it, and replace the whole pod when it wears out. Caliburn GPP, Xros Corex, Luxe X, Xlim, Argus, Gotek, Klypse and Wenax M1 pods all work this way.
Empty pods with coils
The pod is a shell and the coil pushes in separately. You change the coil often and the pod only when it cracks or wears. The Caliburn G2 and Smok Nord 6 pods are this type.

With an empty pod you need to match two things: the pod to the kit, and the coil series to the pod. If your kit takes separate coils, look for the coil series named on the pod’s product page.

Uwell Caliburn: G series or A series?

The Caliburn name covers more kits than any other on this list, and the letter after the name decides which pod fits.

G3, G4 and G5 kits. The Caliburn GPP replacement pods list the G3, G3 Lite, G3 Pro, GK3, GK3 Tenet, G3 ECO, the G4, G4 Classic, G4 Pro, G4 Pro Koko and G4 Mini, and the G5, G5 Lite, G5 Lite SE and G5 Koko. They have a built-in mesh coil in 0.4, 0.6, 0.9 and 1.2Ω, attach magnetically, and come in top-fill and side-fill versions, in packs of three or four depending on the option. The Caliburn GPP Alpha pods cover almost the same G3, G4 and G5 kits in 0.4, 0.6 and 0.9Ω; the product page says they last for up to 17 refills.

Uwell Caliburn GPP replacement pods in top-fill and side-fill versions

G2 and older G kits. The Caliburn G2 replacement pods are empty 2ml pods for the G2, GK2, GZ2, the original Caliburn G and the Koko Prime. They take press-fit Caliburn G and G2 replacement coils, which you buy separately, and they have adjustable airflow on the pod.

A2 and A3 kits. These are a separate family. The Caliburn A2 pods fit the A2, A2S and AK2 and come in 0.9Ω (top-fill) and 1.2Ω (side-fill). The Caliburn A3 pods fit the A3, A3S, AK3, AZ3 and AZ3 Grace. Both product pages say the pods won’t work in any other Caliburn.

Vaporesso Xros and Luxe X

Xros kits. Vaporesso has kept one pod shape across the Xros range, so the Xros Corex 3.0 replacement pods list almost every Xros kit: the original Xros, Xros Mini and Xros Nano, the Xros 2, the Xros 3, 4 and 5 with their Mini and Nano versions, the Xros 6 and 6 Mini, the Xros Pro and Pro 2, the Xros Cube and the Xros Mini Retro. They come in 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0 and 1.2Ω with a built-in coil and the clamshell top-fill.

The one thing to check is the 0.4Ω pod. The product page says it only works properly on the more powerful kits, naming the Xros Pro and Pro 2 and the Xros 4 and 5 series, and doesn’t recommend it for older, lower-power Mini kits. The same product page calls the 0.8Ω pod the best all-round choice for nic salts, with 1.0 and 1.2Ω for a tighter draw.

Luxe X kits. The Luxe X Corex 2.0 pods fit the Luxe X, X2, X Pro, XR, XR Max and XR Max 2. They fill from the bottom and come in 0.3 and 0.4Ω for direct-to-lung, 0.6Ω for a restricted direct-to-lung draw, and 0.8Ω for mouth-to-lung.

Oxva Xlim and Voopoo Argus

Xlim kits. Oxva sells two main top-fill cartridges for the Xlim range. The Xlim V3 pods list the Xlim Pro, Pro 2, SE, SE Bonus, SQ, SQ Pro 2, Go 2, Go Lite, Classic Edition, Xlim 3 Ultra and the original Xlim, and the page notes they fit any Xlim except the Xlim C. They come in 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.2Ω, and Oxva gives 12 to 18W as the range for the 0.8Ω pod.

Oxva Xlim V3 replacement pods

The Xlim EZ pods are Oxva’s newer cartridge, which it says lasts longer and resists leaks better than the V2 and V3. They list the Xlim Pro, Pro 2, SQ, SQ Pro, SE, SE 2, Go and Classic Edition. The page also notes that the 0.4Ω EZ pod is not compatible with the Xlim SE, Xlim SQ and Xlim V2.

Argus pod kits. The Voopoo Argus Multi-Ohm pods list the Argus A, P2, P1S, G, G2, G2 Mini, G3, G3 Mini, G4, G4 Mini and the Argus Z3. Voopoo describes them as a triple-coil integrated design with a top-fill. If your Argus isn’t in that list, check its own product page before ordering.

Aspire Gotek, Innokin Klypse, Geekvape Wenax and Smok Nord

Gotek. The Aspire Gotek pods fit the Gotek X, Gotek X II, Gotek X3, Gotek Pro, Gotek S and Gotek Nano. They’re 2ml side-fill pods with a built-in mesh coil in 0.6 or 0.8Ω. Aspire notes that because of power limits, the 0.6Ω pod is not compatible with the Gotek X and Gotek S, so owners of those two should stick to 0.8Ω.

Klypse. The Innokin Klypse V2 pods fit the Klypse, Klypse Zip, Klypse Mecha, Klypse Pro and Klypse Plus. They have a dual-mesh built-in coil in 0.6, 0.8 or 1.2Ω. Innokin says the Klypse Plus reads the pod and sets the power for you: 22W for 0.6Ω, 16W for 0.8Ω and 12W for 1.2Ω.

Wenax M. The Geekvape Wenax M1 pods fit the Wenax M, M1, M1 Mini and M2, in 0.8Ω (14 to 16W) or 1.2Ω (10 to 13W), both aimed at mouth-to-lung. They come with or without a drip tip; the versions without are for Wenax filter drip tips.

Nord 6. The Smok Nord 6 empty pods are top-fill shells that take Smok RPM 4 mesh coils, so you can set your kit up for a mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung draw by choosing the coil. The page lists them for the Nord range including the Nord 6, so if you have another Nord, check that your kit takes RPM 4 coils.

How to order the right pod first time

These four steps get you from an unknown kit to the right pack.

  1. 1
Find the exact model name. Look on the box, the base or back of the device, or your order confirmation. “Caliburn” or “Xlim” alone isn’t enough; you need the letters and numbers after it.
  2. 2
Check the pod’s compatibility list. Use the table above, then confirm your model appears in the compatibility list on the pod’s product page.
  3. 3
Match the resistance to your draw. If you like a tight, cigarette-style mouth-to-lung draw, go for 0.8 to 1.2Ω. For a looser restricted direct-to-lung draw, 0.6Ω.
  4. 4
Match the liquid to the coil. 50/50 liquids and nic salts suit coils of 0.6Ω and above (typically 0.6 to 1.2Ω). High-VG 70/30 suits coils below about 0.6Ω, and those low-resistance pods are not for 18mg or 20mg liquids.

When to change a pod, and how to make one last

With a built-in coil pod, the pod and the coil wear out together, sooner with heavy use or sweet liquids. The signs are the same on every kit: flavour goes flat, there’s a faint burnt edge on the first puff, or the pod starts gurgling or leaking. Our guide on when your pod or coil needs changing covers each one.

A few habits help a pod reach the end of its life rather than burning out early. Prime every new pod by filling it and leaving it for five to ten minutes before the first puff. Fill to the max line, not to the brim. Keep to the power range printed on the pod or its product page. And keep the contacts on the pod base and the battery clean and dry.

If pods for your kit are hard to find, it may be time for a newer kit; check the compatibility lists above before choosing one.

Quick answers

Are vape pods universal?

No. Pods are made for a kit family; find yours in the table above.

Do Caliburn G3 pods fit the Caliburn G4 and G5?

Yes. The Caliburn GPP and GPP Alpha pods list the G3, G4 and G5 kits, including the Mini, Lite and Pro versions.

Will Xlim pods fit the Xlim C?

No. The Xlim V3 and Xlim EZ product pages both say their cartridges don’t fit the Xlim C. They do fit most other Xlim kits, including the Xlim Pro 2.

Why does my new 0.4 ohm pod not fire properly?

Your kit may not have the power for it. Check the power note on the pod’s product page and try a 0.6Ω or 0.8Ω pod instead.

Can I put nic salts in any of these pods?

Nic salts and 50/50 liquids suit pods of 0.6Ω and above, which covers most of the options on this page. For the lowest resistance pods, use a high-VG liquid at a lower strength instead.

How often should I replace a pod?

For a built-in coil pod, usually every one to three weeks, or sooner if the flavour fades or it starts to taste burnt. On empty pod kits you change the coil on that schedule and the pod only when it’s damaged.

Compatibility lists, resistances and power ranges are taken from the product pages and the manufacturers’ descriptions at the time of writing. Product availability changes. For adult smokers and vapers aged 18+ only.
