- Almost every shortfill on the shelf is already 0mg. They leave the factory nicotine free, which is why they can be sold in 50ml, 100ml and larger bottles.
- Buy a shortfill and simply skip the nic shot. That is the whole trick. No special product line, no compromise on flavour.
- Most 0mg liquid is 70/30 VG. It wants a sub-ohm coil or a pod mod, not a tight little starter pod.
- Concentrates are the cheapest route if you get through a lot, because you mix a 30ml bottle out into far more finished liquid.
- The vape duty from 1 October 2026 applies to 0mg too. It is charged per millilitre of liquid, nicotine or not.
Zero nicotine is not a separate category
There is no separate category called zero nicotine. What there is, is a UK rule that caps any nicotine-containing bottle at 10ml and 20mg/ml. To sell a bigger bottle, manufacturers leave the nicotine out entirely and leave headroom at the top so you can add a 10ml nic shot yourself. That is a shortfill, and unopened, unshotted, it is a 0mg e-liquid.
So the nicotine-free shelf is enormous. You are not choosing from a small niche selection of flavours designed for people who do not want nicotine. You are choosing from the whole shortfill catalogue.
The other route is DIY. A 30ml flavour concentrate mixed into a PG/VG base gives you several hundred millilitres of finished 0mg liquid at the strength of flavour you want. It takes a bit of kit and a bit of patience but it is by a distance the lowest cost per ml. If you want the middle ground, longfills are pre-measured concentrate in a bottle you fill with base.
Seven 0mg flavours worth buying
Strip the nicotine out and what is left has nowhere to hide, so the ones that work are the ones with a clear top note and something behind it. Sweet and cold does particularly well.
Best all-rounder
The famous aniseed, berry and menthol profile that defined UK vaping for a decade, and it holds up at 0mg because the cooling does the work nicotine used to. Best berry
Blueberry, raspberry and blackberry with a clean menthol finish, in a 200ml bottle that will see most people through three to five months. Deep and jammy on the inhale, cold on the way out. Best menthol
Sweet, dark blackcurrant with a hard menthol edge. Nicotine-free liquid can taste flat in the throat and a properly cold mix fixes that completely, which makes this one of the easiest 0mg bottles to vape all day. 100ml shortfill, 0mg.
Best dessert
Thick vanilla custard with a doughnut base. Desserts are where 0mg really earns its place, because without the nicotine bite you get the full sweetness rather than a sharp edge over the top of it. Best in the evening; it is heavy for all-day use. 100ml shortfill, 0mg, high VG.
Best sweet fruit
Blue raspberry candy over a mixed berry base, the flavour most people mean when they say blue. Loud, sugary and instantly recognisable, which is exactly what you want when there is no nicotine underneath it. 100ml shortfill, 0mg.
Best value
A half litre of mixed berry and menthol in one bottle. Cost per ml on a bottle this size is about as low as it gets, and the rest of the Kingston range follows the same pattern. Only worth it once you are certain you like the flavour. 500ml, 0mg.

Will it work in your kit?
This is the part people get wrong. Nicotine-free liquid is nearly always 70/30 VG, because it is made for the sub-ohm crowd. That is thick liquid, and a small pod with a 1.0Ω coil and a narrow wicking port cannot pull it through fast enough. You get a dry, burnt taste within a day and a ruined coil.
What works. Sub-ohm tanks, pod mods with coils below about 0.6Ω, and anything running above about 20W. If your device has airflow you can open wide and a decent sized coil, it will handle a shortfill happily.
What does not. Compact starter pods designed for 50/50 nic salt. If that is your device and you want 0mg, you need a 50/50 base instead, which in practice means mixing your own from concentrate or picking one of the few 50/50 shortfills in the range. Mixing your own 0mg from concentrate
If you vape a lot of nicotine-free liquid, concentrates are where the real saving is. A 30ml bottle of something like Red Astaire by T Juice or Blue Raspberry Ice by Zeus Juice mixed at ten per cent makes 300ml of finished liquid.

Work out your ratio. Most concentrates sit between 10 and 20 per cent. The bottle will tell you. Start at the low end; you can always add more.

Measure the base. For 100ml at ten per cent you want 10ml of concentrate and 90ml of base at the VG ratio your coil likes. Use a syringe, not your eye.

Shake hard. A full minute. VG is viscous and a lazy shake leaves the flavour sitting in the bottom of the bottle.

Steep it. Fruits are usually fine straight away. Custards, tobaccos and anything creamy want a week in a dark cupboard, shaken daily, before they taste right.

Label the bottle. Flavour, percentage, ratio and date. You will want to repeat the good ones exactly.
Storage, shelf life and what the duty means
Nicotine-free liquid actually keeps better than nicotine liquid, because nicotine is the component that oxidises and darkens. Sealed, kept cool and out of sunlight, a shortfill will hold its flavour well past a year. Heat is the enemy, not time; a bottle left on a windowsill for a fortnight will taste tired. On cost, one point catches people out. The Vaping Products Duty starting 1 October 2026 is charged at £2.20 per 10ml plus VAT on vaping liquid, and it makes no distinction for nicotine content. A 0mg shortfill is taxed exactly like a 20mg salt. That means a 100ml bottle carries £26.40 of duty and VAT and a 500ml carries a great deal more. Quick answers
Does 0mg liquid still produce vapour?
Yes. Vapour comes from the VG and PG base, not the nicotine, so a bottle makes the same amount of vapour with or without a shot in it. Nicotine only changes the throat feel and what the liquid does to you, not what you see.
Does 0mg liquid taste different?
It tastes cleaner and feels softer in the throat, because nicotine contributes a peppery bite. Some people find that a relief and others find the vape feels thin. Cold and sweet flavours cover the gap best.
Is zero nicotine e-liquid better for me?
We do not make health claims about vaping products. All we can tell you is what is in the bottle: a 0mg liquid contains no nicotine. These are consumer products, not licensed medicines, so speak to your GP, pharmacist or local NHS stop smoking service for medical questions.
Can I mix two 0mg shortfills together?
Yes. They are both nicotine free and usually the same ratio, so a half-and-half of a fruit and a menthol is a common way to make a flavour nobody sells. Mix in a clean bottle, shake well and label it so you can repeat the good ones.
Can I add nicotine to a 0mg shortfill later?
Yes. A shortfill has headroom for one 10ml nic shot per 50ml of liquid, which lands at roughly 3mg. Write the finished strength on the bottle, and see how much nicotine should I vape if you are not sure whether you want any.
