Uwell Caliburn G3 Lite Review: A Simple Pod Kit for Nic Salts

Kit review

The Caliburn G3 Lite strips the G3 back to the essentials: no screen, no buttons, automatic power and a bigger battery. Here’s how it performs, who it suits and what to know before you buy one.

Only got a minute?
  • Draw and vape. No buttons and no settings; Smart Mode sets the power for whichever pod you fit, up to 25W.
  • A bigger battery than the G3. 1200mAh against the standard G3’s 900mAh, in a simpler body.
  • One 0.9 ohm pod in the box. A tight mouth-to-lung draw that pairs naturally with nic salts. A 0.6 ohm pod is sold separately.
  • No cable in the box. It charges by USB-C, so use a cable you already own or add one to your order.
  • Best for: anyone who wants a refillable pod kit that behaves like a simple stick, with their own choice of 10ml liquid.

Where the G3 Lite fits in the Caliburn range

The Uwell Caliburn G3 Lite Pod Vape Kit 1200mAh is the pared-back version of the Caliburn G3. Uwell has taken away the screen, the fire button and the manual wattage, and put a larger battery in their place. What is left is a slim, draw-activated pod kit that takes the same G3 pods as its bigger sibling.

That makes it a very different proposition from the standard model. The G3 is for someone who wants to tweak power and switch between firing modes. The Lite is for someone who never wants to think about the device at all. If you are weighing the two, our full Caliburn G3 review covers the screen and adjustable output in detail, and the Caliburn G3 vs Xros 4 comparison sets it against Vaporesso’s main rival.

It is a refillable pod kit. You fill a 2ml pod from your own bottle, rather than clicking in a sealed prefilled pod. Since single-use disposables were banned in the UK on 1 June 2025, that is one of the two main routes people take, and it is the one that gives you the widest choice of flavours.

Design, battery and Smart Mode

In the hand, the G3 Lite is light and compact, with a clean body and nothing to press. The only information it gives you is an LED battery indicator, which is enough to know when to charge. There is a window on the pod so you can see how much liquid is left.

Smart Mode is the headline feature. Uwell says it automatically adjusts the wattage for your coil, so the 0.9 ohm pod and a 0.6 ohm pod each get a suitable power level without you touching anything. That removes a common beginner mistake with adjustable kits: running a pod at the wrong wattage and burning it out early. The trade-off is that you cannot push the power up or down if you want a warmer or cooler vape; if that matters to you, the standard G3 is the better buy.

The 1200mAh battery is large for a kit this size, and for most people on the 0.9 ohm pod it comfortably covers a day of normal use. Heavier vapers, or anyone using a 0.6 ohm pod at higher power, will get less from a charge. Our guide to looking after your vape’s battery has tips for keeping it healthy over the long run.

Pods, flavour and airflow

The kit comes with a single 0.9 ohm pod. That resistance gives a tight mouth-to-lung draw, the style where you pull vapour into your mouth first and then inhale, and it brings out clear, well-defined flavour from a nic salt or a 50/50 10ml liquid. The pod supplied in the box is side filled, while the replacement pods are top filled.

0.9 ohm (included)
Tight MTL draw, modest vapour, economical on liquid.
0.6 ohm (sold separately)
Looser restricted lung draw, more vapour, warmer flavour. Uses liquid faster and suits lower strengths.

The coil is built into the pod, so when flavour starts to fade or taste burnt you replace the whole pod. The Caliburn G3 refillable pods (4 pack) are the direct replacement and are listed in several resistances; availability of each one varies, so check the listing before you order. The G3 Lite also takes the Caliburn G3, G4 and G5 GPP replacement pods. A pod typically lasts one to three weeks; our guide on when a pod needs changing explains the signs.

Airflow is dual, with an inlet on each side of the pod; keep the draw tight for mouth-to-lung and use the 0.6 ohm pod if you want a looser pull.

Getting started in five steps

  1. 1
Charge it. Use a USB-C cable plugged into a standard low-output USB plug or a computer port. Avoid fast-charge bricks and do not leave it charging unattended overnight.
  2. 2
Fill the pod. Open the fill port, aim the nozzle down the inside wall and stop short of the top so a small air gap remains. Close it firmly.
  3. 3
Leave it to soak. Give a new pod five to ten minutes before the first puff so the cotton is fully wet.
  4. 4
Fit the pod and draw gently. Smart Mode reads the pod and sets the power. Start with short, gentle puffs for the first few minutes.
  5. 5
Check the draw. If it feels too tight, try the 0.6 ohm pod rather than forcing harder draws. Keep the device upright in a pocket or bag.

Best liquids and nicotine strength

50/50 suits MTL coils of 0.6 ohm and above, which covers both the 0.9 ohm pod and the 0.6 ohm option, so almost any 10ml e-liquid will work. Thick 70/30 shortfills are built for sub-ohm tanks and wick too slowly in a small pod, which leads to dry hits.

The G3 Lite suits nic salts because the 0.9 ohm pod at automatic power is exactly the set-up nic salts are made for: a smooth feel at a tight draw. If you have not used salts before, our beginner’s guide to nic salts explains the difference from freebase. UK nicotine bottles come in sizes up to 10ml and strengths up to 20mg/ml; pick yours by your habit using our guide to how much nicotine to vape.

A typical pod-kit vaper uses about 10ml to 15ml a week, so a 10ml bottle lasts three to seven days for an average user. From 1 October 2026, Vaping Products Duty adds £2.20 per 10ml (£2.64 with VAT) to every vaping liquid; our vape tax guide sets out the detail. Pre-duty stock is on sale until 31 March 2027.

Verdict: who should buy the G3 Lite

What it does well. Large battery for its size, genuinely simple operation, good flavour from the 0.9 ohm pod, and Smart Mode that stops you running a pod at the wrong power. It shares pods with the rest of the Caliburn family, so replacements are easy to find.

Where it falls short. No screen and no manual wattage, so there is nothing to tweak if you like to experiment. Only one pod comes in the box, and the pod is replaced whole because the coil is built in.

Who it suits. New vapers who want a refillable kit that is as easy as a stick, and anyone who has used a more complex kit and wants something that just works. If you want more control, the standard G3 is the step up. Quick answers

Is the Caliburn G3 Lite good for nic salts?

Yes. The 0.9 ohm pod in the box gives the tight mouth-to-lung draw nic salts are designed for, and Smart Mode sets a suitable power automatically.

Can I change the wattage?

No. Smart Mode sets the power for the pod you fit, up to 25W. If you want manual control, look at the standard Caliburn G3.

Does it come with a charging cable?

No. The box contains the device, a 0.9 ohm pod and a manual. It charges by USB-C, so use a cable you already have with a low-output plug or computer port.

Which pods does the G3 Lite take?

Caliburn G3 refillable pods and the Caliburn G3, G4 and G5 GPP replacement pods. The coil is built into each pod, so you replace the pod rather than a coil.

Will it leak?

Not if it is filled correctly with a 50/50 or nic salt liquid. Leave an air gap at the top, close the fill port firmly and keep the device upright when you carry it.

Specifications are taken from our product listings and may change with manufacturer updates. Replacement pod resistances and stock vary; check the product page before ordering. For adult smokers and vapers aged 18+ only.
