Elux Nic Salts: Every Flavour, Strength and Which to Buy

• There are two ranges, not one. Elux Legend is the larger range, Elux Firerose 5000 the smaller. Both are 10ml, both are 50PG/50VG nic salt, and both come in the same pack sizes.
• Legend is the bar-flavour range, Firerose leans sweeter and fizzier. If you came off an Elux bar, Legend is the closer match.
• Strengths differ by flavour. Most are 10mg and 20mg. A handful of Legend fruits also come in 5mg, including Triple Mango, Strawberry Kiwi, Watermelon Ice and Blueberry Sour Raspberry.
• Buy in multiples. Bottles come as singles or in 3, 5 and 10 packs, and the per-bottle cost drops at every step, so a 10-pack is the cheapest way to buy a flavour you already know.
• Vaping Products Duty starts 1 October 2026 at £2.20 per 10ml, or £2.64 with VAT on top.
• It is a pod kit liquid. Keep it in coils of 0.6Ω and above at low wattage. Do not put it in a sub-ohm tank.

What an Elux nic salt is

Elux built its name on prefilled bar-style devices. When the disposable ban landed on 1 June 2025, the bottled nic salt ranges became the way to keep those flavours going in a refillable kit, and that is what most people are buying now.

Every Elux nic salt bottle on this site is the same basic thing: 10ml, 50PG/50VG, salt nicotine rather than freebase. 10ml and 20mg/ml are the UK legal maximums for a nicotine bottle, so no brand can sell you more than that.

The reason salt nicotine matters is throat feel. Freebase at 20mg in a small pod kit is harsh enough that most people cannot use it; salt at the same 20mg is smooth, which is why it became the standard for pod kits and suits most pod-kit users.

Legend or Firerose 5000: the two ranges explained

This is the part most people get wrong, because the bottles look similar. They are two different flavour libraries.

Pack sizes, bottle size and ratio are identical between the two, so there is no value reason to pick one over the other.

The flavours worth knowing

The full range is too many flavours to work through blind, so here are the ones we would put in front of a first-time Elux buyer.

Blueberry Sour Raspberry is the one people come back for. Sweet blueberry on the inhale, a sour raspberry snap on the exhale. It is the flavour most associated with the bars and it translates cleanly into the bottle. Available in 5mg, 10mg and 20mg.

Triple Mango is the all-day pick if you do not want sour. Ripe and heavy rather than sharp, and sweet without tipping into sickly.

Watermelon Ice and Strawberry Kiwi are the two safe fruits. Neither is complicated, both are hard to tire of, and both come in all three strengths.

Fresh Mint and Blackcurrant Menthol cover the cooling end. Fresh Mint is clean and uncomplicated, a good palate reset between fruits. Blackcurrant Menthol is the one menthol smokers tend to settle on, because the fruit takes the edge off without burying the cold.

Cherry Lime is the underrated one. Dark cherry with a lime edge that stops it going flat. If every fruit you have tried lately has tasted the same, start here.

On the Firerose 5000 side, Blue Razz Gummy is the flagship, sweet blue raspberry with a gummy-sweet finish. Cherry Cola and Ice Pop handle the fizzy drink end, and Pineapple Peach Mango is the tropical one that does not lean sour.

Two that get overlooked: Buttermints, a creamy mint that tastes like the sweet rather than the toothpaste, and Spearmint, which is softer and sweeter than Fresh Mint if plain menthol is too sharp for you.

If you smoked rather than vaped before, Legend is the only Elux range with tobacco. Straight Tobacco is the plain one and Vanilla Tobacco softens it.

5mg, 10mg or 20mg: which strength to buy

Strength is the decision people get wrong most often. It depends on how much you smoked and what device you are putting it in, not on flavour.

20mg is the legal maximum and the right starting point if you smoked a pack a day, or if you have just come off a 20mg bar. Most Elux bars were 20mg, so if you are replacing one, match it.

10mg is the middle ground. It suits lighter smokers, around ten a day, and anyone who finds 20mg too strong.

5mg is for social smokers, under five a day, or for slightly higher-powered pod kits where you take in more liquid per puff. Only a handful of Legend flavours offer it, so check the strength dropdown before you commit.

Which kit to use them in

Elux nic salts are 50PG/50VG, which makes them mouth-to-lung liquids. They belong in a pod kit with a coil of 0.6Ω or higher, typically 0.6Ω to 1.2Ω, run at low wattage. In a sub-ohm tank they will taste harsh and deliver far more nicotine per puff than you want.

Pack sizes, and what October changes

Every Elux nic salt comes as a single bottle or as a 3, 5 or 10 pack. From 1 October 2026 every one of those bottles carries the same fixed duty, so the bigger the pack, the more tax it holds:

Nic salt keeps for a couple of years sealed in a cool dark cupboard, so a multipack of a flavour you already know will not go off before you finish it. What we would not do is buy ten of a flavour you have never tried; a single bottle or a 3-pack is the place to test one.

How Elux compares with the other bar-style salts

Elux is not the only brand doing this. Most bar-style nic salt ranges are close on quality, so the choice comes down to flavour library.

Against IVG, Elux is generally the sweeter and smoother of the two, and IVG is the sharper and more menthol-forward.

Against Bar Juice 5000, Bar Juice has a slightly wider flavour range and the same three strengths in the same 10ml format. If you want a specific bar flavour, check both and buy whichever actually has it.

Against Kingston, the difference is bottle size rather than flavour. Kingston sells large-format bottles, a different way of buying entirely.

Getting the best from a bottle

Four things make more difference than the brand on the label.

Prime a new coil and wait. Drip a few drops onto the cotton, fill the pod, then leave it five to ten minutes before the first puff. Almost every burnt first pod is a coil that was never wetted.

Do not let the pod run low. Refill at about a quarter full. Running a pod dry is what kills coils, and a dead coil makes good liquid taste like nothing.

Store it properly. Upright, cool, dark, lid on. Heat and sunlight darken nic salt and dull the flavour. A cupboard is fine, a car dashboard is not.

Rotate two flavours. Vaper’s tongue is real. Keeping a mint alongside a fruit and swapping between them stops your palate flattening out, which is the main practical argument for the Legend 2-in-1 kit if you are buying hardware anyway.
