- Ten brands, ten styles. Fruit and ice (Dr Frost, Zeus Juice), desserts (Dinner Lady, Custard Monster), tropical blends (Twelve Monkeys, Pacha Mama) and more.
- Most are sold as 100ml shortfills. That means 0mg in the bottle and usually a high-VG ratio for sub-ohm tanks.
- Several also make 10ml nic salts, which is the way to try a brand in a pod kit at a set strength.
- Check the ratio before you buy. High-VG shortfills suit coils below about 0.6 ohm; pod kits want 50/50.
- Try one bottle first. A smaller brand’s style can be very different from what you’re used to.
Why look past the big names
The big e-liquid names are well known for good reason. But plenty of smaller producers make liquids with a sharper identity: a whole range built around one idea, like icy fruit, nostalgic puddings or tropical mixes. If your usual flavour has started to taste flat, one of these is often a better change than another bottle from the same brand.
The brands below are all ones we stock, so every link goes to the range we carry. What they have in common is focus. Rather than trying to cover every taste, each brand here has a signature style, so once you know which style you like, you know where to look next. The trade-off is that smaller brands are less predictable: a flavour name that sounds familiar can taste quite different from the version you’re used to, and ratios vary more from brand to brand than they do among the 10ml names.
So read the product page before you buy. Check the size, whether it’s a 0mg shortfill or a nicotine 10ml, and the PG/VG ratio, then decide whether it suits your kit. That two-minute check is the difference between finding a new favourite and ending up with a bottle that floods your pod or burns your coil. For the better-known names, see our guide to the top e-liquid brands in the UK.
Brands 1 to 5
1. Zeus Juice
A UK brand known for bold, imaginative flavour combinations, from fruit and ice to dessert-inspired blends. The flavours are punchy, and the range includes 10ml nic salts, so it works in a pod kit at a set strength. Black Reloaded Ice, pictured above, is a good example of the style. Our Zeus Juice flavour guide goes through the range.
Try it if: you like strong, layered fruit with a cool finish.
2. Monster Vape Labs
An American maker behind several ranges with their own following: Jam Monster, Custard Monster, Frozen Fruit Monster, Tobacco Monster and others. The Custard and Jam lines are rich and sweet; Butterscotch Custard Monster is a typical example. Most of the 100ml bottles we list are 25/75 PG/VG, so this is sub-ohm liquid.
Try it if: you vape a sub-ohm tank and like desserts or jammy fruit.
3. Nasty Juice
Originally from Malaysia and still fairly niche in the UK. Nasty Juice is best known for tropical fruit blends. The flavours are bright and direct rather than subtle, which makes them easy to pick out if you’ve found other fruit liquids a bit muted.
Try it if: you want tropical fruit that’s loud and clear.
4. Riot Squad
A British brand with fruit medleys, candy-inspired mixes and some desserts. Its point of difference is the Hybrid Nicotine range, which combines freebase nicotine and nicotine salts in one liquid.
Try it if: you use a pod kit and can’t decide between freebase and salts.
5. Twelve Monkeys
A Canadian brand recognised for tropical, jungle-themed flavours. Each blend balances sweet and tart, and they tend to be fruit-forward rather than sugary. If you like a mixed-fruit flavour that still tastes of fruit rather than sweets, this is a good place to look.
Try it if: you want tropical fruit with a sharper, tangy side.
Brands 6 to 10
6. Dr Frost
A UK brand built around icy fruit, with ranges including Frosty Fizz sodas and the Arctic Edition. Many flavours come both as 100ml shortfills and as 10ml nic salts, such as Fizzy Lemonade Frosty Fizz 10ml nic salt, which makes it easy to try the brand in a pod kit before committing to a big bottle.

Try it if: you want fruit with a strong menthol chill.
7. Dinner Lady
The brand that turned school-dinner puddings into e-liquid: lemon tart, rice pudding, apple pie and similar British desserts, plus seasonal limited editions. It’s the obvious pick if you want a dessert that tastes like a specific pudding rather than generic “sweet”.
Try it if: you like baked desserts and nostalgic flavours.
8. Pacha Mama by Charlie’s Chalk Dust
Pacha Mama is the exotic-fruit line within the Charlie’s Chalk Dust family. It combines tropical fruits into rich, layered blends, the kind where you can pick out two or three distinct fruits rather than a single “tropical” note.
Try it if: you enjoy complex fruit blends that change as you vape.
9. Just Juice
A UK brand focused on tangy, fruity flavours with plenty of character. The range runs from single fruits to more complex medleys, and there are nic salt options alongside the bigger bottles, so it works in pod kits too.
Try it if: you like sour and sharp fruit more than sweet.
10. Wick Liquor
Known for complex, layered blends that stand apart from the usual fruit-and-ice formula, including carnival-style treats and unusual tropical combinations. This is the most adventurous brand on the list and a good choice once you’ve tried the obvious flavours.
Try it if: you want something genuinely different.

How to try a new brand without wasting money
- 1
Match the format to your kit. Pod kit? Look for the brand’s 10ml nic salts or 50/50 bottles. Sub-ohm tank? A high-VG 100ml shortfill is the natural choice.
- 2
Check the ratio on the product page. 50/50 suits MTL coils of 0.6 ohm and above (typically 0.6 to 1.2 ohm); high-VG 70/30 suits coils below about 0.6 ohm. The PG/VG guide explains why it matters.
- 3
Start with one flavour in the style you already like. If you vape fruit and ice now, try Dr Frost or Zeus Juice before jumping to Dinner Lady desserts.
- 4
Give it a few days. A new flavour can taste odd on the first refill, especially after months on one liquid. Judge it after the bottle, not the first puff.
Nicotine, formats and the duty
Most of these brands are best known for 100ml shortfills, which are 0mg in the bottle because nicotine-containing liquids are limited to 10ml in the UK. Adding two 18mg nic shots to a 100ml shortfill (or one to a 50ml) gives around 3mg. If you need more than that, buy the brand’s 10ml nic salts, where available, which go up to the 20mg/ml legal limit. Our guide on how to use nic salts covers the basics, and shortfill vs 10ml compares the two formats.
From 1 October 2026, Vaping Products Duty applies to every vaping liquid, including 0mg shortfills, at £2.20 per 10ml or £2.64 with VAT. It’s the same per ml whichever brand or format you choose, so it doesn’t favour the big names over the small ones. Pre-duty stock is on sale until 31 March 2027.

Quick answers
Yes, as long as the product meets UK rules. Nicotine-containing liquids must be notified to the MHRA and sold in bottles of up to 10ml at up to 20mg/ml; 0mg shortfills fall under general product safety law.
Use the brand’s 10ml nic salts or 50/50 bottles. High-VG shortfills like most Monster Vape Labs bottles are too thick for pod coils and suit sub-ohm tanks.
Pick one that matches what you already vape. Fruit and ice fans should start with Dr Frost or Zeus Juice; dessert fans with Dinner Lady or Custard Monster.
A liquid that combines freebase nicotine and nicotine salts. Riot Squad’s Hybrid Nicotine range is an example.
