Formats: shortfills, nic salts and concentrates

Pod kit or MTL tank
Coils of 0.8Ω and above want thin liquid. Buy the 50/50 shortfills such as Black Reloaded, or the 10ml Zeus nic salts if you need 5mg, 10mg or 20mg.
Sub-ohm tank or mod
Coils below 0.5Ω are built for thicker liquid. This is where the 70/30 100ml shortfills belong, at 3mg to 6mg.
Shortfills are the main format. A 100ml arrives nicotine free in a 120ml bottle with room for two 10ml shots, which brings it to roughly 3mg. The 50ml Imp Jar bottles take one shot. Because UK law limits nicotine-containing bottles to 10ml and 20mg/ml, a shortfill cannot legally be sold ready mixed, and you cannot reach salt-level strength in one either.
Nic salts cover the other end. The Dimpleberry 10ml nic salt and its stablemates give you the same flavours pre-mixed at pod-kit strengths, with a smoother throat hit than freebase at the same milligram. If you get through under 10ml a day and want no mixing at all, this is the simplest way to vape Zeus.
Concentrates are for people who mix their own. Zeus sells 30ml concentrates in flavours like Blackcurrant and Orange through the DIY and concentrates range. They are not vapeable as they come: a concentrate has to be diluted into a PG and VG base, usually at around 10% to 20%, and then left to steep.

How to mix a Zeus Juice shortfill
A 70/30 shortfill takes a little more care than a thin 50/50, and the layered Zeus recipes reward a proper steep. Four steps and you are done.

Match the shot to the liquid. Use 70VG shots in a 70/30 bottle and 50/50 shots in a 50/50 bottle, or you will thin the mix out and lose flavour. Two 18mg shots in a 100ml gives 3mg; one shot in a 50ml gives the same.

Add every shot before you shake. Pull the nib out, pour the shots in, push the nib back and cap it. Shaking between shots just makes a foamy bottle you have to wait on.

Shake for a full minute, end over end. Turning the bottle beats rattling it. High VG liquid blends slowly and an uneven mix means the first fills are weaker than the last.

Leave the dessert flavours overnight. The fruit bottles are good straight away. Mint Choc Chip, Hot Chocolate and Chocolate Cream Biscuit get noticeably rounder after a day or two in a cool, dark cupboard. Concentrates need longer, usually a week or more.
Zeus Juice and the vape duty
From 1 October 2026 the Vaping Products Duty adds £2.20 per 10ml plus VAT to every bottle of e-liquid, nicotine free or not. That is £2.64 on each 10ml at the till, so a 100ml shortfill with two shots carries £31.68 of duty and a 60ml Imp Jar mix carries £15.84. Stock held before 1 October can be sold at pre-duty prices until 31 March 2027.
Because the duty is flat per ml, the ranking between formats does not change. Buying volume is still the cheaper way to vape a flavour you already know, which is an argument for a 100ml shortfill over repeat 10ml orders once you have settled. Concentrates are no cheaper on duty, because liquid you mix at home is liable on its finished volume just like a bottle you buy ready mixed. What they save you is the brand premium, not the tax. The practical advice is the same as ever: buy a small bottle of a flavour first, and only go big once you are sure. A stack of 100ml bottles of a cherry you have gone off is a long way to the bottom, duty or no duty.
