Prefilled, not refillable: getting the Elfa straight
The Elf Bar Elfa is a slim, pen-style rechargeable battery that takes prefilled pods. Each Elfa pod arrives sealed and full of 2ml of 20mg nic salt with a QUAQ mesh coil built in. You press the seal, click the pod in and draw; there are no buttons. When the flavour fades, you remove the pod and fit a new one. That is what makes it a prefilled pod kit rather than a refillable one.
The confusion comes from the word refillable. The battery is reusable and rechargeable, which is why it is still legal after single-use disposables were banned in the UK on 1 June 2025. But the Elfa pods themselves are prefilled and are not meant to be refilled. If you want to fill a pod from a bottle, you need a separate empty pod, which we cover below.

How long an Elfa pod lasts day to day
A pod rated at 600 puffs lasts a light user about two to four days. Heavier users will get through one faster, because long or frequent draws use more liquid. A typical pod-kit vaper uses about 10ml to 15ml of e-liquid a week, so if you vape steadily through the day, plan on several pods a week and buy in packs.

The battery is a separate question. At 500mAh it is small, so how often you charge depends on how much you vape; keep an eye on it through a busy day. Charge it with a USB-C cable plugged into a standard low-output USB plug or a computer port, avoid fast-charge bricks, and do not leave it charging unattended overnight.
Filling the empty Elfa pods properly
If you go the refillable route with the empty pods, the liquid matters. These are mouth-to-lung pods with a 1.0Ω coil (0.8Ω on the Turbo option), and 50/50 suits MTL coils of 0.6Ω and above, so use 50/50 nic salts or standard 10ml liquids rather than thick high-VG shortfill.

Open the silicone plug. Hold the pod upright and lift the plug on the fill port.

Elfa vs the Elf Bar AF5000
The Elf Bar AF5000 is often mentioned alongside the Elfa, but it is a different device. It is a rechargeable kit with a 2ml pod and a separate 10ml refill bottle supplied in the box, filled by its pump system. It is refillable from its own bottle rather than taking Elfa pods, and the two do not share pods.
