All E-Liquid consists of Vegetable Glycerine, Propylene Glycol, flavourings, nicotine and in some cases a colouring Some Juices are 100% VG which means they contain no Propylene Glycol. Max VG does not necessarily mean there is no Propylene Glycol (PG) in the Juice. This means that the juice has a very high VG content. Propylene Glycol (PG): – Propylene Glycol is high quality pharmaceutical grade, in combination with the nicotine and flavours this gives you more of a throat hit. Vegetable Glycerine (VG): – Glycerine helps to produce more vapour and holds more flavour. There is much debate about nicotine, but on its own nicotine has never been shown to be harmful. Much of the negativity surrounding nicotine stems from its combination with tobacco cigarettes.

There is no one-size fits all answer here, so the best thing you can do is to try out a few e-liquids and see which one suits you. Interestingly, don’t assume that you need an authentic tobacco flavour. There are some good ones out there, but we find that the vast majority of vapers end up choosing a flavour other than tobacco, and this happens very quickly if they try a few different ones to begin with. In terms of PG/VG, you’ll have to try for yourself and decide what you like.

This is, in a way, the trickiest question of all because ultimately it’s a personal preference. You need to try out vaping to see what you like. Some vapers simply prefer a stronger nicotine e-liquid but on a lower powered device, whereas others prefer less nicotine but on a more powerful device. And some people are somewhere in the middle! Also, vapers differ in how much nicotine they need, and how much they want to vape overall. So, if you want to vape less, use a stronger e-liquid, if you find you’re getting too much nicotine from the amount you like to vape, move to a less strong liquid.

Nicotine is a naturally occurring substance found in tobacco plants. It’s a stimulant that can be addictive, but in vaping, it’s delivered without the harmful tar and many chemicals found in cigarettes. It’s available in different strengths to suit your needs.

Freebase nicotine is the most common form of nicotine in e-liquid. It offers a stronger throat hit, especially at higher strengths, and is ideal for those who enjoy that sensation or are transitioning from smoking.

Nicotine salts (nic salts) are a smoother form of nicotine, absorbed quickly by the body. They deliver a gentler throat hit, even at higher strengths, making them ideal for beginners or those who prefer a milder vaping experience.

E-liquid contains Propylene Glycol (PG) and Vegetable Glycerine (VG). The ratio determines the vaping experience:

• PG: Thinner, carries flavour well, provides stronger throat hit.
• VG: Thicker, produces more vapour, offers smoother hit. Different ratios suit different devices and styles.

50/50 e-liquid contains equal parts PG and VG. It’s balanced for flavour and vapour and works well in most mouth-to-lung (MTL) kits, such as starter kits or pod systems.

This e-liquid has 70% VG and 30% PG. It’s designed for sub-ohm vaping, delivering bigger clouds and smoother hits, best used in high-powered kits and with low-resistance coils.

Also known as e liquid, e-liquid, or eliquid, vape liquid is the flavoured solution used in your vape kit or e-cigarette. It contains a mix of four main ingredients:

• Vegetable Glycerin (VG) – for smooth vapour and thick clouds

• Propylene Glycol (PG) – carries flavour and gives a throat hit

• Flavourings – natural or artificial blends that define the taste

• Nicotine (optional) – available in different strengths or nicotine-free

When heated by the coil in your vape device, vape liquid turns into vapour that you inhale. The type of e-liquid you choose affects both the flavour experience and how your device performs.

For sub-ohm vaping (coils below 1.0Ω), choose high VG e-liquids, such as 70/30 or 80/20 VG/PG blends. These provide large vapour clouds and smooth inhales, but they work best in powerful vape kits.

For MTL vaping (coils above 1.0Ω), use 50/50 e-liquids or nicotine salts. These provide a satisfying throat hit, good flavour, and work perfectly with lower-powered devices.

Once opened, e-liquid lasts around 6–12 months if stored in a cool, dark place. Over time, flavour and nicotine strength can degrade. Always check for changes in smell, taste, or colour.

It depends on how often you vape:

• Light vaper: May last several days to a week.
• Heavy vaper: Might use 1–2 bottles per day. Sub-ohm vaping uses more liquid, so bottles will run out quicker than with MTL vaping.

E-liquid can darken due to oxidation, especially when exposed to light and air. Nicotine reacts with oxygen, causing colour changes. It’s normal and safe unless the liquid smells or tastes off.

This is subjective, but popular UK brands include Vampire Vape, Riot Squad, IVG, Dinner Lady, and Twelve Monkeys. Choose a reputable brand that suits your taste, device, and nicotine preference.

In the UK, a 10ml bottle typically costs £3 to £5, depending on the brand and nicotine type. Multi-buy deals and shortfills (larger bottles without nicotine) offer better value for money.

A harsh vape can be caused by:

• High nicotine strength
• Too much PG
• Improper coil or wattage settings Nicotine salts or lower strength freebase liquids can provide a smoother experience.
